Flying in from the UK
Most UK visitors fly into Tivat (TIV) on the coast — easyJet, Ryanair, Jet2 and BA run seasonal summer routes from Gatwick, Manchester, Bristol and Edinburgh. Podgorica (TGD) has fewer direct UK links but more year-round flights. If your holiday is Budva, Kotor or Herceg Novi, aim for Tivat.
Getting from the airport to your hotel
Tivat is tiny, and in July and August the taxi rank outside arrivals fills up fast. Booking a transfer before you fly means a driver is waiting with your name, the price is fixed in euros, and you skip the queue. Tivat to Budva is about 25 minutes; Kotor is even closer.
Money, language and driving
Montenegro uses the euro even though it is not in the EU, and cards work in most places — but keep some cash for small cafes. English is widely spoken along the coast. Cars drive on the right, so many UK visitors skip the hire car and use Cablo for day trips instead.
Day trips without a car
